One of the tasks in operations management is managing the time of your care workers. As the manager, you have to make sure everything goes well and prevent conflicts from arising.
ShiftCare’s new feature releases focus on improving the management of care worker’s tasks; allocating care workers break time and improving work efficiency for sleepover shifts.
We have added a simple way to manage care worker’s shift activities, we call it Tasks. It is an itemised list of tasks that care workers should complete a shift.
Click on Shift/Program Edit and you will see the Add Tasks button . By clicking on the button, it will create your first task item. You can then provide a description of the task as well as set a Mandatory Flag on the task. Mandatory Flag is a useful way to let care-workers know about important tasks.
Once all tasks are added, you can check them up on Shift Details page. All of your completed tasks will be marked with a tick on checkboxes as well as the notification within Shift Timeline.
If you need to allocate staff break-time, do not forget to add break-time for your shift.
Note: Break-time is measured in minutes.
Where shift has Break associated with it, you will see the Break icon along with the duration of the Shift Details view. In Addition, you can also see Break-Time in Staff Shift Breakdown or hover view in Calendar.
Note: Break-Time is not included in Staff Timesheet
Workflow Efficiency – Sleepover Shifts
You can now create a single shift that runs overnight (e.g. 10 pm to 6 am). This will save you hours of managing Sleepover Shifts. This means that you can book a single shift for an overnight stay. In order to take advantage of this feature, you will need to mark a Shift Sleepover
- Click on shift edit and then tick Sleepover flag
- Now you can save overnight shift (e.g. 10 pm to 6 am.)
